Kia ora koutou Parents and BDS Whānau,

We hope you had an enjoyable holiday. Welcome to our new families joining us this term and we look forward to seeing you at school and attending our school events.

Term 3 is a busy, exciting term of learning, sports, cultural activities and trips. We will continue to send out a newsletter every Tuesday full of celebrations and important information.

Sports and Clubs for Term 3

Sports: Term 3 has a number of sports available. Please keep in mind that some of these sports are open for Year 5 and 6 students only. This is because of the HPPA rules which indicate the competitive teams must be of a certain age.

Clubs: For Term 3 we are very fortunate to have the following clubs available for students to be part of.

Art Club (Year 4-6) – Mrs Jacobs
Enviro Club (Year 3-4 and Year 5-6 groups) – Mrs Stankovic and Mrs Andrew
Dance (Year 1-3 and Year 4-6 groups) – Mrs Jeffs and Miss Smith
Kapa Haka (Year 4-6) – Mrs Takaiti
Choir (Year 5-6 ) and Orchestra (Year 4-6) – Miss Liu

A big thank you to all of the teachers for their time and effort in facilitating a club/sports team for our tamariki.

Whānau Learning Conversations

Thank you to all those parents and whānau who attended. Our staff continue to comment on how valuable these are and we appreciate the very positive feedback from you.

PTA Notices

Whittaker’s Chocolates Fundraiser: The PTA’s annual Whittaker’s chocolates fundraiser is launching next week, providing an excellent opportunity to support our school. Boxes will be sent home to the eldest child in each family next week with all the information enclosed. There are amazing prizes to be won from Rainbows End, Kelly Tarltons, Butterfly Creek and Time Zone!

Olympics No Uniform Day – Friday 2nd August: Donate $2 via Kindo or to your class teacher and wear your favourite Olympic themed sports or country clothing.

Jesters Pies – Wednesday 7th August: Order and pay via Kindo by 11am 6th August

PTA Meeting – Monday 5th August: We welcome new members, please join us at 7pm in the staffroom if you are interested in finding out more about the PTA.

School Assembly

We invite you to attend our school assembly on Friday at 9.10 am. This week our item will be by Year 6. There are no certificates awarded this week.

Children Turning Five – Enrolment

If your child is turning five in the next six (6) months please ensure you enrol them as soon as possible. Our roll is steadily growing and we need to plan for classes and teachers during the year.
